Aloha Kākou! Since the mid-1800’s my relatives have called the Hawaiian Islands home. They came as tenant farmers from the Atlantic Island archipelagos known as the Azores and Madeira. They brought with them an abundance of knowledge and culture that is now very much a part of the Hawaiian experience.

We all love the Guitar and Ukulele and associate them as a key ingredients in today’s Hawaii. Hawaiian music has always been a big part of our family tradition. My great uncle was a famous early Hawaiian singer and actor. Ray Andrade was the sound of the South Pacific!

Needless to say, Aloha is engrained in us and the spirit of Aloha needs to be spread far and wide. I design and create each carving. They are not mass produced or overseas replicas. They are all one of a kind wearable pieces of Hawaiian art and are sure to be conversation starters.  

Hawaiian Makau or Maori Matau Hooks are prominent here but you will also find other pieces made from unique bone, stone, Billfish, exotic woods, and indigenous, sustainable Hawaiian Koa wood.

My chosen supplier of Big Island real Hawaiian Koa wood is Mike at A.M. Ranch Hawaii. I am in awe of his desire to protect and preserve the legacy of this beautiful wood and tree. He manages nearly 1000 acres of sustainably harvested old growth Koa forest. He knows every tree. Sustainability is important to me so that many generations will know the difference between real Hawaiian Koa and Acacia. He is pictured below.
